RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S “SOUND OF MUSIC”

THE SOUND OF MUSIC has become the world’s most beloved musical which features a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the title number, “The Sound of Music.” This classic has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, follows an ebullient convent postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp as she brings music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, the von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

The Sound ofMusic was directed by Joe Lawrence with vocal direction from John Lahlum, pit music directed by Jason Koets, and production design by Jack Neveaux.

Six performances of The Sound of Music were held at the Delano Performing Arts Center (PAC). Performances were July 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 & 21, 2024.

Auditions were held on Monday and Tuesday April 15 & 16 at the Delano HS Black Box studio & Saturday April 20 at Delano HS Auditorium. Callbacks were held on Saturday April 20 at Delano HS Auditorium.
