SCHOOL OF ROCK – THE MUSICAL follows Dewey Finn, a failed rock star forced to earn some extra cash by posing as a teacher at a prestigious prep school. But Dewey isn’t going to teach his straightlaced students Math - They will learn to Rock!
Featuring all the original songs from the film, a new score from Andrew Lloyd Webber & a script by Julian Fellowes (the Creator of Downton Abbey).
SCHOOL OF ROCK features an incredible cast and crew of kids and adults, laughs, scorching riffs, pounding drums, and an amazing mix of musical theatre and rock.
*Please be aware that children will use some adult language (PG-13) in this production.
Jack Neveaux will serve as co-director and technical director for “School of Rock,”.
Jack, who comes from a college theatre background, has been working with community theatres for 17 years, directing productions such as "The Addams Family," "Fiddler on the Roof," "Camelot," "The Glass Menagerie," "Of Mice and Men," "Death of a Salesman," Noel Coward’s "Private Lives," and others. He has been on staff for the Delano High School Drama Department, directing and designing multiple shows since Fall of 2018.
Joe Lawrence will co-direct “School of Rock – the Musical” .
Joe has directed multiple shows at Lakeville South High School and Delano High School.
Joe has an extensive professional theatre background, having worked in New York and Boston as an Equity stage manager, actor, and director. In his professional theatre work, he was responsible for running rehearsals, technical aspects, and performances for dozens of adult and children's productions
Carley Frank will be the Choreographers for “School of Rock”
Carley has over 25 years of dance experience, with training in ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary. She was a member of the FMBallet company for 5 years and has also performed with the many different theater groups such as Trollwood Performing Arts School, LaMoure County Summer Musical Theater, and 4 Community Theater. Carley now teaches jazz and lyrical dance with Minnetonka Just For Kix, although theater is definitely her first love, and she is so excited to have the opportunity to be involved in it again! She is so excited to choreograph for School of Rock and work with this talented cast and crew!
Jason Koets will be the Music Director for “School of Rock”.
Jason is a longtime music faculty member at Delano Schools and veteran conductor of many high school and community theatre pit orchestras.
The Vocal Coach for “School of Rock” will be John Lahlum.
John is a Delano High School graduate, currently studying music education at Minnesota State Moorhead. John is an accomplished musician, actor and composer.
