Get into the holiday spirit by joining Delano’s new community theatre organization, Delano Dramatic Company this holiday season for its second annual stage presentation of a holiday play dealing with warm (and sometimes humorous) seasonal sentiments. This season’s production will be “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol”:

We all know the story of A Christmas Carol that tells of the redemption of Ebenezer Scrooge from 1st class curmudgeon (who hated everything except money) to a person capable of great love and generosity. We also know that Scrooge’s first visitor on that fateful night was his old partner, Jacob Marley, dead now these last 7 years. Marley came to warn Scrooge to change his ways or suffer the weight of the chains that he himself now wore because of his own greed and hate. And he foretold of the visitors that the skeptical Scrooge would encounter that night. But what if Marley had more to do with that night than we know of from the original telling? Maybe there was something in this for him also. What if Marley was given his own chance for redemption as well? And all he had to do was save his old partner from a similar fate. That’s all. Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol tells of that night from Marley’s point of view: how he orchestrated that night into the famous tale we are familiar with; and how he pulled it off…with a little help.
The Delano Dramatic Company assembled a troop of 5 superb actors, each playing multiple roles, to present Jacob’s version of that night for you. Including a Scrooge like you’ve never seen before. This entertaining seasonal show was directed by Elvin Clark, and featured the acting talents of Nathan Gresfrud, Dennis Kelly, Nancy Lipinski, Sean Snow, and Lana Forsythe. The production was presented at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo on December 2nd. Performances were also presented at Delano United Methodist Church on December 9th and December 10, and at the Delano Senior Center on December 7th. Admission was free, with free will donations accepted.
