Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy starred on Broadway in this moving chronicle of a husband and wife, from their wedding night in 1890 until they leave the house that has been their home, thirty-five years later. They fret and quarrel, laugh, cry, and make love in the same room in which they began their married life. Standing throughout the evening is the old fourposter, silent witness to all.

Artistic Director: Jack Neveaux
Stage Manager: Kerstin Deters-Engel

The Fourposter auditions are Tuesday, August 18 @ 6:30-8:30 pm and Wednesday, August 19 @ 6:30-8:30 pm at the Delano Heritage Center, 140 Bridge Ave E, Delano, MN 55328. We are looking for six men and six women of various ages: playing character age ranges are 18-60.

The reason for the age range is this is a three act play with two scenes in each act. The only characters in the play are Michael and Agnes (husband and wife). The play shows them evolve over the years and life experiences of their marriage. The ups and downs. The funny, and not so funny moments. The characters start their marriage in the first scene and by the end of the play they are retiring to a smaller house. We would like to cast actors appropriate to the ages of the characters in the different scenes.

Auditions will be cold readings from the play. Sides will be posted here by August 10 or with a link on FB – https://www.facebook.com/DelanoDramaticCo/

Rehearsals will begin on Saturday, October 24, 2026 . We will meet 2-3 times a week until after Thanksgiving, then likely more often. A complete rehearsal calendar will be shared once the cast list is posted. Cast members are not permitted to miss more than two (2) rehearsals, unless absences were already scheduled and listed on your audition form. No absences will be allowed the final two weeks prior to opening.

Tech Rehearsals: cast must be available to be called those days. See calendar.

Performance dates & times are yet to be finalized the weekends of December 4-6, 11-13 and 18-20.

Strike: after the final performance.
